Sports action is where it all began for me.  It is also one of my absolute favorite things to photograph.  Capturing peak action moments in a game and freezing them as a permanent memory for that athlete or their parents is a rush.  Capturing that emotional moment of celebration on the sidelines after a big play, or that pain from the agony of defeat.  Not many things stir the emotions or get the adrenaline pumping for me like shooting sports.

Over the years I have covered many sports, including Football, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Track and Field, Cross Country, Wrestling, Cheer/Dance, Marching Band, and Winter Guard. 

Yes, I included Marching Band and Winter Guard as sports - They train physically (and if you have never been to a summer band camp to see how hard they work or to a practice during marching season, you have no idea what goes into putting together those shows), they practice, and they perform to compete to win in competitions.  Band and Winter Guard are most certainly Athletes for me.  

I am the WGI Regional Photographer for Tennessee.  WGI Sport of the Arts is the world’s premier organization producing indoor color guard, percussion, and winds competitions.  I have also covered Marching events for CIPA circuit, ETPAA circuit, and the SOTV Invitational.
